Discover a Historic Costa Rican Cultural Experience

Step inside a traditional Costa Rican “casita”, a farmhouse modeled after homes used by rural families over 100 years ago. Here, you’ll learn how coffee, chocolate, and sugarcane have shaped Costa Rica’s culture and economy. Set within a lush botanical garden filled with fruit trees, medicinal plants, and native flowers, this experience offers insight into how natural resources have been used in daily life for generations.

What is included:

Immerse yourself in three educational, interactive, and historic tours highlighting crops that are pillars of Costa Rican culture.

Costa Rica Chocolate Tour: Follow the journey of cacao from plant to product. See how cacao beans are dried and ground, then take part in the traditional chocolate-making process. This interactive experience highlights the history and cultural importance of chocolate in Costa Rica.

Costa Rica Coffee Tour: Explore one of the most important parts of Costa Rica’s identity through a hands-on coffee experience. Learn how coffee is grown, harvested, and processed, and discover why Costa Rica is known for producing some of the best coffee in the world.

Costa Rica Sugarcane Tour: Along the walking trails in the Botanical Gardens, learn all about sugarcane agriculture in Costa Rica and participate in one of the country’s most precious traditions. Guests will use the sugarcane press to make their very own sweet water — “Agua Dulce”.

Also Included: The Discovery Pass

Included in this tour is the Discovery Pass — which provides you with access to Diamante’s Rescue Animal Sanctuary, a safe home for animals that cannot return to the wild. Each animal is supported by a dedicated team of experienced professionals focused on their long-term wellbeing. Thoughtfully designed habitats recreate natural environments while allowing guests to observe animals up close and learn about their behavior, ecology, and role in Costa Rica’s ecosystems. Diamante’s bilingual team leads the experience with a strong focus on education and conservation, helping visitors understand the importance of protecting Costa Rican wildlife. Diamante works alongside biologists, veterinarians, and SINAC — the government agency responsible for wildlife protection — to ensure the highest standards of care and environmental responsibility.
